This active learning programme comprises two interactive case study modules designed to enhance your understanding of current issues relating to the diagnosis and management of patients with dyslipidaemia, particularly within the context of absolute cardiovascular risk.
By the end of this session you should:

• Understand the contribution dyslipidaemia makes to overall cardiovascular disease burden in Australia.
• Correctly identify patients with dyslipidaemia and stratify their absolute cardiovascular risk.
• Understand the relationship between dyslipidaemia and risk of cardiovascular events.
• Be aware of the gap between recommended lipid goals and on-treatment lipid levels.
• Understand and employ management strategies with the greatest potential to correct dyslipidaemia.
• Know and aim for appropriate lipid sub-fraction targets.
• Understand the compliance issues around lipid-lowering therapies, including lifestyle changes.
• Improve your communications with patients about dyslipidaemia
